Regardless of the type of transportation you choose for your exhibition display, attention must also be paid to the protection you offer your display stands during transit. Your equipment represents an investment, and should be protected from damage and loss, so remember:
• Insurance – trade show exhibits can be expensive to replace and so it is always a good idea to make sure they are adequately covered by insurance policies for various types of damage or loss. Work out the value of the equipment you will be transporting to the trade show, and how much it would cost to replace, and make sure you are protected financially. Insurance would typically be provided by a company’s corporate cover, or through the transportation company. It is important to pay attention to the details of the policy and make sure you know whether the equipment is covered when not on company premises, and also for the duration of the show.
• To invest in travel cases that offer protection as well as mobility. Padded fabric bags and reinforced fabric cases can offer protection to banner stands and other types of display stand, while also ensuring that all fixtures and fittings are kept securely together, minimising the risk of loss during transit. Some rigid cases allow all elements and accessories of a pop up stand, for example, to be contained within one case, while some are also lockable, providing added security and peace of mind while your display stands are in transit.
